About JFCS

JFCS & You
Saving Lives, Restoring Hope

Today we can make a difference!

Guided by the wisdom and values of our tradition, Jewish Family & Child Service provides social services that improve the lives of children, adults and families in the Jewish and general communities.

JFCS offers a wide range of human services including individual, couple, family, and group counseling, services for seniors and people with disabilities, emergency assistance and referrals during time of crisis, and other specialized assistance for Holocaust survivors. All our services are offered without regard to age, race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.

For 65 years, JFCS Portland has been providing high-quality, caring social services to Portland, Oregon residents, supporting individuals and families through difficult life transitions and times of personal crisis, regardless of their age, race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.

In our community there are people whose lives are in crisis. They are struggling to find a job, pay the rent, feed their families and keep the power turned on. JFCS provides a lifeline for them when there is no other place to turn.

During the year there are many ways to give to Jewish Family & Child Service through monetary donation and your time. Donations make it possible for us to meet basic needs of friends, family and neighbors year after year. Each donation has the potential to transform the lives of those who are challenged by poverty, disability, aging, failing health and unexpected events.

“The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Gandhi
